In Virginia, all crash report requests must be submitted by mail, fax, or in person. There is no way to order a crash report online at this time. You have the option of submitting a written report or completing an Information Request Form (CRD 93), along with a payment of $8.00 per crash report requested.
Requesting an accident report by mail
To request a report by mail, you must either submit a written report or print and complete an Information Request Form (CRD 93).
If you decide to go with a written request, you must include:
- Crash involvement (e.g., driver, injured person, vehicle owner, etc.)
- Crash date and time
- Crash location (street, city/town/county)
- Driver name
- Driver's license number (must be provided if the requester was involved in the crash)
Once you have either your written request or Information Request Form (CRD 93), you will need to mail it along with an $8.00 fee per crash report requested in the form of a check or money order to:
